Chris and Sophie are naturals together, when you see them, you know they are so right for eachother. I was told that they had no experience in front of a camera, but after this session I really have to disagree; they were so easy to work with and nailed it.

Rob & Danielle

Rob and Danielle are two of the most kind and authentic people I have ever met. They decided to get married on April fool's day, but this day was no joke!

I drove up to Paihia on a stunning day - while most would consider sun the best, its the cloud that gives the soft even lighting that every photographer loves. Then just before sunset the started popping out (the best time for it to happen!), and we managed a couple quick sunset shots. This family was so full of warmth and love, it was truly a blessing to be part of  and tell the story of their day.

I don't blog anywhere near enough engagement sessions, and I REALLY need to! Engagement sessions are where I get to know my couples a bit more, and I see how they interact with each other so I can capture exactly who they are. MOST of my clients have never been in front of a camera before so this is a way to help them relax and get to know how I will work with them on their big day. Its also a chance to have a relaxing photoshoot without the pressure of everything else going on around them like a wedding day brings; its normally me, my camera, the couple, and sometimes an extra family member! Plus they are a TON of fun.

I first met Lizzy and little Brooke when we caught up for a coffee and had a chat about the plans for their amazing day; we got on instantly.  I met them again, this time the whole family at their engagement shoot on a quiet beach just before sunset, they were like pro's I knew the wedding was going to be easy. Jarrod and Lizzy are absolutely amazing souls, not only are they totally in love, but also best friends and parents.

Wedding Advice - from a "veteran" bride

Wedding Advice - from a "veteran" bride

Its no surprise that I see a LOT of weddings, I've seen and heard a lot of things, and I've also been in that position myself. Because I tend to spend more time with the Bride & Groom on their big day I take very seriously that my position is always to be calm, friendly and help keep things running smooth (as much as a photographer can!). I just wanted to share a few tips to make your day that little bit less stressful:
